that’s my h.o.e.

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.

Revelation 21:1

Q: What’s it going to be like?

Heaven on earth.

Will there be flying cars and buildings made of pure gold?

A: Probably not.

I’m going to be honest.

I can’t tell you what heaven on earth will look like.

Only God can do that.

However, I can give you my personal interpretation.

More specifically, the traits I imagine inheritors of the kingdom will display.

Throughout this article, we will be discussing my Heaven on Earth.

Or in other words…

My H.O.E.

learners

A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.

Proverbs 1:5

I love learning.

Sometimes I think it’s a bad thing.

Maybe one day I’ll stumble across something so mind-blowing that I’ll go crazy and become a shell of my former self, cursed to live in eternity with the knowledge that I was good enough before.

Sometimes I think it’s a good thing.

I think God is a pretty smart guy.

Smart enough to create the entire universe right?

My H.O.E. will be full of learners.

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8

I know it hurts sometimes.

But…

You’ll get over it.

You’ll find another life to live.

Or not.

I still think about her everyday.

My H.O.E. will be full of lovers.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17

What is love without loss?

I’ve lost a lot in my life.

You might even consider me a professional loser.

But what profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul?

Despite the losses I carry on.

Despite the thorn in my side, I rest easy knowing who guides me.

My H.O.E will be full of losers.

Yeah…

That’s my H.O.E.

A chaotic utopia full of Learners, Lovers, and Losers.

Can’t you see it?

It’s already here.

What a time to be alive.
