sorry to bother you

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mark 8:36

Warning: This article will be full of spoilers for the film Sorry to Bother You. I highly recommend watching the movie before reading.

You have been warned

What a great film.

This movie is spectacular on a multitude of levels, specifically in regards to its social commentary.

The war on capitalism, code-switching/social masks, modern day slavery, and the occultic undertones show that the director is, quite frankly, a genius.

For this article we will dissect the hidden gem Sorry to Bother You from an esoteric level.

everything that glitters

We begin the film with our protagonist Cassius living in his uncles garage.

Despite his seemingly unideal circumstances, he’s happy.

He has a beautiful girlfriend, a place to live, a car, and essentially everything he needs.

But not everything he wants.

Eventually Cassius lands a job at a telemarketing firm. At first he’s unsuccessful, but eventually, he learns the art of code switching, adopting his signature “white voice.”

After doing so, Cassius becomes a telemarketing superstar, with a promotion looming on the horizon.

However, his fellow coworkers aren’t so lucky.

After accepting the promotion, Cassius gets everything he ever wanted. The job, the house, the clothes, the cars.

But we soon find out that sometimes, when leaving the crab bucket, you enter into something even worse.

Upon being promoted, he’s forced to use his “white voice” at all times. He’s forced to continuously wear the mask. Not only that, but he soon learns that his new job consists of selling slave labor.

Cash’s coworker Squeeze forms a union and recruits Cash, Detroit, and their friend Sal. When Cash participates in a protest, he expects to be fired but is instead promoted to an elite Power Caller position. In the luxurious Power Caller suite, Cash is told by the lead Power Caller, Mr. _______, to always use his white voice.

He learns that RegalView secretly sells military arms as well as cheap labor from the corporation WorryFree, through which employees sign lifetime contracts to work and be housed in factories, which many condemn as slave labor.

Though Cash is initially uncomfortable with the job, he is celebrated at work, and can now afford a new apartment, a flashy new car, and pays off Sergio’s house. He stops participating in the union push and Detroit quits her RegalView job to avoid conflicting loyalties between the two, while secretly participating in the Left Eye Faction, an anti-WorryFree activist movement.

She breaks up with Cash, arguing that his immoral job has changed him, while he insists he has the right to be proud of his success.

I’m somewhat conflicted.

On one hand, it reminds me of the constant struggle many so-called black men face while trying to ascend. They don’t want you to be better. They want you to stay at the bottom. They want you to complain and protest instead of putting in the hard work necessary for ascension, something the critics of capitalism often aren’t willing to do.

He could not understand why, if they had so much energy to spare, they could not use it make their lives better.

James Baldwin: Notes of Native Son

Stop protesting, complaining, and vandalizing. Stop destroying your own property and posting black squares on social media.

Marxism/Communism is not the answer.

Start a business, write a book, get your dream job. Do something that will genuinely make your life better instead of looking for a handout.

However, I also see the point his friends are trying to make. He has changed. He’s wearing a mask. Forced to embody a persona that isn’t in line with his true character for a paycheck.

I guess the point that I’m trying to make is that you should be trying to ascend in life, but not at the expense of your morals.

This is why I believe all so-called black people should be working towards starting our own businesses. Forming our own economy. Writing our own stories.

I also briefly wanted to mention the occultic themes presented in the film.

The movie does an amazing job at depicting the masonic initiation journey, and the cost of rising through the various degrees. As you ascend the levels, you gain more earthly riches and power, but lose your soul in the process.

Check out Hidden History Vol.3 for more information on Freemasonry.

We see even more masonic themes presented through Cassius’ new bosses.

First off is Mr. Blank, clearly displaying the one eye symbolism.

As I discussed in Seeds of Satan Vol.1, this is an overt satanic symbol, synchronizing him with Horus/Odin.

Second, we meet Steve Lifts. We see him hosting an elaborate party in full Eyes Wide Shut fashion. Drugs and orgies galore.

But more importantly, we see him wearing a kilt.

This is a clear sign that Steve Lifts is a Freemason, aka a satanist!

One of the first actions of a newly made brother is the investiture of the Lambskin. It is probably the most single recognized symbol of Freemasonry besides that of the Square and Compasses. In each of the degrees the Senior Warden instructs the brother on how to wear the apron correctly.

The use of the Apron in ritual goes far back into ancient history. One of the accepted garments of the High Priests in Biblical times was the Ephod. An Ephod is defined as “a linen apron worn in ancient Hebrew Rites; especially a vestment for the High Priest.” According to the Bible, the Ephod, which is often called “robe” in its ancient meaning of “skirt”, covers the body from the waist down.

Above all other symbols, the Lambskin Apron is the distinguished badge of a Mason. In modern times it has been celebrated in poetry and prose and has been the subject of much fanciful speculation.

This is also why so many male celebrities don this attire.

They’re all FREEMASONS!!!

new slaves

The film also touches on the ever so popular theme of gene-editing.

Cash is invited to a party with WorryFree CEO Steve Lift, where he is goaded into rapping for the predominantly white guests. In a private meeting, Lift offers Cash a powdered substance which Cash snorts, believing it is cocaine. Looking for the bathroom, Cash discovers shackled half-horse, half-human hybrids who beg him for help.

Lift explains that WorryFree plans to make their workers stronger, more obedient, and thus more profitable by transforming them into human-horse hybrid “Equisapiens” through snorting a gene-modifying powder.

In my view, human/animal hybridization has been going on for millennia. Where do you think we get myths of mermaids, centaurs, and satyrs?

The film then uses these creatures to surreptitiously touch on the importance of false revolutionary figures in the so-called black community.

Cash refuses an offer of $100 million to become an Equisapien for five years and act as a false revolutionary figure to keep the employees in line.

Sorry to bother you, but most of the public figures we’ve come to idolize and worship are nothing more than proxy leaders and gatekeepers meant to keep the masses in check.

These celebrities are nothing more than modern day house negroes.

They get fame and riches in exchange for keeping the “slaves” in a state of mental and spiritual bondage. They get to stay in the “house” as long as they don’t disrespect the master and keep their brothers in line.

See Kyrie Irving or Kanye West.

Ancient ruling class civilizations always took people from the slave population to act as proxy leaders and figure heads because they knew that slaves would be more inclined to listen to one of their own.

Little did the people know, these public figures were nothing but puppets.

it’s enough

The film ends with Cassius right back where he began. Back in the garage with his girl, and family.

He’s happy.

Yet, we soon learn that making a deal with the devil always comes with a price.

I think the important lesson to take from this is that happiness comes from simplicity. If you have a roof over your head, a loving family, and food on the table, that’s enough, whether it’s the roof of a garage or a mansion.

You should absolutely be trying to ascend in life, but always be grateful for what you have. Why do you think we see so many middle class, or even poor people who live long, happy lives, as opposed to rich and famous people who are often, depressed, addicted to substances, and unfulfilled?

What profit a main to gain the whole world, but lose his soul?

Dear Negro,

Destiny is calling.

Sorry to bother you.

Bye chance.
