the right path

I was at a crossroads.

There were two paths in front of me.

Both leading to my destiny.

I looked to the left.

The path seemed warm, inviting, safe.

Comfortable.

There were a lot of people going that way already.

Something I couldn’t say about the other path.

The right path was the exact opposite.

There was a storm.

Roars and howls trailed in the distance.

It looked dark, cold, dangerous.

Wild.

There was no group to accompany me.

Only a single person, far in the distance.

I looked back and forth.

Obviously I started going left.

I mean, I’m not dumb.

I started assimilating with the group.

It was too easy.

But that’s just it…

It was too easy.

As we walked, something felt…

Wrong.

Like I was being led into a trap.

I couldn’t see my destination, only the people in front of me.

I looked back.

The right path looked even worse than before.

But I kept thinking about that lone person…

Why did He choose that path?

Why was He so bold?

What made Him different?

What did He see that I didn’t?

The people behind me began to push forward.

Suddenly, the path didn’t seem so nice and comfortable.

I had to make a decision.

They kept pushing, urging me to continue.

But I didn’t.

I couldn’t.

I wouldn’t.

I repented.

I returned to the crossroads.

The guy was even further away now, but I could still see Him.

The rain came down, and the howls began to get louder.

But I didn’t care.

I had to find out who he was.

I wanted to be like him.

So I took the right path.
