10 movies every man should watch
I love movies.
Many of my fondest memories have their genesis in a Cinemark.
I think the reason I love movies so much is because they’re teachers. The stories on the big screen are mirrors. We see ourselves in the characters. We see our life story within the plots. We see our goals realized in the conclusions. Movies help us to reflect and evolve into the people we aspire to be. The people we were meant to be.
I wanted to write this article because I see men struggling. We have lost our way, and many of us are despondent and drifting. My hope is that these movies will help you to solve the various issues in your life, and become the man of your dreams.
So here are 10 movies that I think every man should watch.
In no particular order…
the lion king (1994)

One of my favorite movies of all time. I know I still have the VHS tape sitting around somewhere. A great film about fatherhood, kingship, and war, both internal and external.
Many of us are struggling with an identity crisis, dealing with absent fathers, and struggling to grow into our crown. As Mufasa said, this movie will help you to remember who you are.
Pay special attention to Simba’s character growth throughout the film, and the event that forces him to repent and retake his throne.
iron man (2008)

Tony Stark is cool.
He’s who every man aspires to be.
Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
This film teaches men the importance of making sacrifices and learning from your mistakes.
Pay close attention to how Tony treats Pepper throughout the film, as well as how he remains steadfast in his Arc Reactor idea, even when everyone around him thinks he’s crazy.
gladiator (2000)

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??!!?!
I actually am.
I learned about this film through the book Wild at Heart, which I also highly recommend.
This film shows the dark side of being a high value man. The battle truly starts once you reach the top. You’ll have haters and people praying for your downfall. They will attack your name, your body, your family, and your livelihood.
Pay close attention to how Maximus overcomes tragedy to finish the mission, no matter the cost.
hancock (2008)

One of the few films starring a so-called black man as a superhero. Another great coming of age film.
The movie shows that even with all the power in the world, without the right mindset, you’ll be destructive and ultimately useless. It also displays how men often lose their “powers” when in the company of the right, or wrong women, depending on your perspective.
Pay close attention to Hancock’s character development throughout the film, as well as his interactions with Mary.
spider-man (2002)

Probably my favorite movie of all time.
“With great power comes great responsibility” is a quote that every man should live by, superpowered or not. Yet another coming of age film that shows how oftentimes, greatness comes from humble beginnings.
Spider-Man represents hope, humility, and sacrifice. Traits all men must acquire through their initiation process.
Pay attention to Peter’s interactions with Mary Jane, and his willingness to give her up and follow his purpose.
star wars: episode 3 (2005)

The reason I fell in love with Star Wars.
The culmination of Anakin’s depressing story.
In this film we see how a man with all the power, all the talent, all the potential in the world at only 22 years old, falls to the deepest depths of hell.
A boy who has been enslaved, manipulated, and conditioned since youth finally snaps.
Pay attention to how the Jedi order treats Anakin, his borderline personality disorder, and his over infatuation with Padme, ultimately leading to his downfall.
the raid 2 (2014)

Probably the greatest fighting film of all time. Nonstop action from the jump.
The Raid 2 follows the story of Rama, an undercover cop who must overcome seemingly endless enemies to complete his mission. Not only is the choreography great, but the story is as well. A great film that will inspire you to keep fighting no matter what obstacles are in your way. It will also encourage you to learn some form of martial arts.
Pay close attention to Rama’s drive and determination throughout the film.
cars (2006)

Speed. I am Speed.
In Cars we watch Lightning McQueen become a man. Going from an arrogant, selfish rookie, to a seasoned, selfless vet.
Simple, creative, and visually fantastic.
We also learn the importance of mentorship, hard work, and taking your time to do things the right way.
Seek first the kingdom of heaven, and everything else shall be added on to you.
Pay attention to Lightning’s character development throughout the film, his performance in the final race, and his initiation ritual in radiator springs.
beowulf (2007)

A film that shows how even the greatest men fall to temptation.
Beowulf follows the story of a Scandinavian hero who gains his kingship through slaying monsters. However, we see in the film that he is responsible for the creation of these monsters due to his lust.
Despite this, Beowulf still becomes a righteous king, and learns from his mistakes, sacrificing everything for his kingdom and those he loves.
Pay attention to Beowulf’s fall and redemption, as well as his interaction with the enemy soldier on the beach.
megamind (2010)

An amazing film from top to bottom. Extremely underrated in my view.
Yet another coming of age story, Megamind follows the story of a villain turned hero. We see how Megamind always had a good heart, the world just wouldn’t allow him to show it. He was dealt a bad hand early in life, being bullied and shunned, leading him down the path of villainy.
However, the truth will always come to the light, and Megamind is the TRUTH!
This film does a great job of depicting the difference between a good guy and a nice guy. I know a lot of you have embraced the “bad boy” archetype due to RedPill content.
Don’t.
The good guy always wins in the end!
Nice guys become scorned and angry due to their ignorance and arrogance regarding women, which we see depicted through the character of Hal. Even with all the traits women normally find attractive, Hal still fails to get the girl because of his awful personality. No matter how tall, strong, or attractive you are, if you’re a bad person, you will fail in life.
Hopefully these 10 movies will give you the inspiration you need to become the man of your dreams.
Be strong.
Bye Chance.
